Looking for training venue

    Hey all,
We're looking for a venue in or close to Waterford City for our group's training sessions. Ideally it would be an indoor gymnasium, sports centre or hall, or even an outdoor area during the summer.

We have an excellent training venue but unfortunately it is not open to the public, and what we need is a public venue where potential members can come by and have a look and see what we're up to. We'd only want to stage these public arena sessions occassionally - perhaps a half dozen times per year.

Who are we and what do we do? We are Déise Medieval and we train in medieval combat, using blunted steel weapons - swords, axes, spears etc. Our experienced members have performed and trained all around the country. (We also participate in and stage living history events for Viking and Norman re-enactment shows, so it's not all combat.) We welcome M and F fighters and crafters. You can look at our new page on Facebook - just search for "Déise Medieval".

We're an amateur group so affordability is also a key factor in choosing a venue for our public sessions. Any ideas?

    Hi there,

We use de la salle college hall for the waterford dodgeball club and its ideal. Close enough for people to walk to and also plenty of parking.

The hall is spacious and also has a seating area looking down on the hall.

Im sure you might also be allowed to use thr greens there which are also located on the school grounds.

If you google de la salle you'll get the number there and ask for brother Timothy as he looks after the hall.

Cill Barra Sports Centre has a nice hall but they might not be fond of the weapons with the floor--- but you can give them a go! They were one of the few places to let us in on the floors with our roller skates.
