Looking for advice on upgrades

    Hi,

I would like to get sim city to play on my laptop but system requirements lab says that my laptop will not be able to run this game.

It said the same thing before I got football manager but I can play that fine but I don't want to take the risk.

The results of my test are in the attachment below. Second attachment is laptop specs

My question is how much would it cost to bring my laptop up to speed?

What is your definition of bringing your laptop "up to speed?" I'm not sure you understand the implications of upgrading laptop hardware. Well the good news is it won't cost you anything. You could try running SimCity on lowest settings at 320x240. I'd say your laptop might handle that fine!

But if you are looking for serious advice then I will offer what I can... the reason you may have been able to run Football Manager is because it isn't a very graphics intensive game. System Requirements Lab isn't very reliable usually, but in this case it's telling the truth! Unfortunately with your processor and integrated graphics specs you really will have a hard time running newer games at a playable level. The bottom line is that your laptop is lacking in the hardware department and upgrading it is very expensive, definitely not worth it and near impossible.

Laptops are rarely recommended for gaming anyway. If you really are interested in PC gaming then I'd suggest spending some time on this forum looking at PC build threads and maybe making your own thread so we can recommend a build for you. Depending on your budget you can spend anywhere from a few hundred for a decent gaming PC to a couple of thousand for a super-high-end PC.

In one line, you can't. It'll cost the price of a new laptop.
