Hey guys. Just started a new thread as i was wondering when in science today we were talking about the time a boy got limewater in his mouth during an experiment and the science teacher had some sort of a mental breakdown over it. I also had indicator spilt on my hand in september and started screaming high pitched and everyone started laughing at me. Please comment below or just look at it and be thankful that anything like that has never happened to you.

Last year, when our teacher placed a few pieces of Alkaine metal in a beaker of water (if you know the chapter, you know what's bound to happen), two people in my class bunched around the beaker and it caught on fire then exploding. The two lads spent the week with sore eyes and their faces were red, it was funny but they looked in serious pain, glad I didn't get too close :D.

Some idiot in my year broke at least 5 beakers for Junior Cert.

The most exciting thing that has ever happened in my class's 3 years of experiments is 2 glasses falling and breaking in one class.

one time we were doing the evaporation experiment, too much pressure between glass ans the evaporation basin. It sorta blew up..

I farted during an experiment once. Was pretty embarrassing. Experiment itself went ok though.

In second year, my teacher (a woman who 'claims' to have a degree in science) had a lighting match in her hand. When she had to grab something else she put the lighting match down on a wooden bench and walked away :L It took her like 5 seconds to realise what she had done xD Some people just should not be allowed to teach :L

That reminds me of a Physics teacher we had (who ended up as an 'Institute' teacher, which is why I find it amusing when some people go on about how great their teachers are).

The school had an antique Van de Graaff generator in the Science lab and one day he spent ages telling us how careful we had to be with it since it was so old. He then proceeded to walk through the earth wire and sent the whole thing clattering off his desk. We watched as the ball shaped bit broke off and bounced down under the desks. It was a slightly battered and bruised antique after that. It still worked though.

No one had the flying-burning-alcohol-leaf? I am much disappoint.

    He's still a good teacher.

    He's still a good teacher.

He wasn't though. That was only one incident. One girl from the class went for grinds in the Institute (back in the day when very few people did) and walked in to see him taking the class. She nearly got sick.

This year during a chemistry class we were testing the colours emitted by different elements, the kid beside me(really immature) took the matches and used it to start burning the corner of a page while my teacher was getting more bunsen burners outside the class, the flames on the paper spread quickly which lead to the kid letting go of the piece of paper which fell on his lap. He completely freaked out when the flames spread to his trousers and it took about 4 of us to hold him still and extinguish the flames. Our teacher gave the entire class after school detention when she saw that the kids trousers which had been burnt. The amusing part was what we did to the kid after detention.....jk XD

Before we were doing stuff with Hot-plates and the teacher went into the store-room to get some things. We then splashed our hands under the taps and shook our hands over the hotplate so the water fell then created a little evaporation cloud (this is in first year and we were much amused :P) anyway, suddenly a guy decides to try make it bigger so he cups his hands and fills them with water. He then walked over to the hot-plate and dropped the water on it. It was at this point that the teacher came out too. The water then hit the plate and evaporated instantly creating a miniature mushroom-cloud. Our teacher then got really angry at him and gave him detention. At the time we didn't understand why he was so angry but now i realise we were dumping water on an appliance run ith electricity with the wires getting splashed and probably the socket too. it was a cool cloud though :D
