I'm going to Chicago on a J1 from May - August and I thought it would be a good idea to start a photoblog to document my trip. What are the best sites for photoblogs and has anybody got any tips or blogs I should have a look at to get an idea of how it's put together?

    Thanks

wordpress is great once you get it going, can really make it unique and stand out more than most and once you have it set up, updating is simples, can even automate enteries so you can batch load images and set it to update at intervals

an alternative to a blog could be done using Strikingly - haven't used it myself (yet) but it is free..
Strikingly allows uploads from several locations, whether they're on your computer or elsewhere on the internet. Adding videos often means just pasting a URL and you can just drag photos onto a drop zone to use them with your page. In the end, I was able to make this simple portfolio page. While Strikingly comes with some limitations, you can still do a lot. The sites it creates aren't just quite temporary landing pages, but ones you can actually use for showcasing your portfolio, an event, or mostly anything else you can think of. If you need to get a simple site online, Strikingly a try. It's free and you can set up multiple pages if you need more than one. - Lifehacker

+1 for wordpress. Very easy to use and free, you can also transfer everything to a self hosted site at a later stage! I started my own last November, though I don't update it often enough :(

Spend the money and go for a v1 instead, you'll appreciate the viewfinder on a sunny Chicago day...
