I got a few letters from AA where they promised me that they would "promise to beat your existing insurer's premium"

So I rang them up, and with my renewal details in hand from my existing company I answered all the questions the phone rep asked..

My renewal premium is currently €435.36
Was dropped to €405.36 :) when I said I was going to shop around first.

AA Car Insurance Price Guarantee : €943 :eek::eek::eek::eek:

Ha, Car insurance in this country is like a lottery game !

    (I'm a 32 year old, with clean license since I was 17)

All they need is 1 person to pay that first price and it will sub 10 people to give at a reduced rate.

I got a quote from them once and I usually get their junk mail every year around the time my insurance is up for renewal. I don't even waste my time ringing them as I know they are not competitive no matter what marketing speal they claim.

I get about four letters a year come renewal. Great for starting the fire that night.

Did you say to their rep on phone that you had letter about guarantee.

When mine was up for renewal recently i tried them initial quote was about 900 told them about letter and what my renewal with existing company was they dropped to 500 straight away once I could provide proof of other renewal quote, in the end I didn't go with them but can't give out about them.

yeah I told the guy at the start i price guarantee letter, and what my renewal was.

i was on hold for about 5 mins while he worked out a price. he came back with that price. i said what about this guarantee i have in my hand, he came back and said that they would match my renewal if i could provide evidence of my renewal.

so for all that effort i just said , "as evidence you can be sure i wont be going with AA", and requested that i was removed from their mailing and marketing lists as all they send is spam..
