    Hi,
Can anyone tell me the going rate for a plasterer?

If your looking for a good plasterer , send me a pm and ill forward you on his number. He can talk to you about rates. Got a stove fitted recently and this lad does all the plumbers work. Can't fault his workmanship.

I just got a guy in, skimmed the master bedroom and installed plaster board in the entry and skimmed it, 2 days work for 2 of them for 280 euro. thought this was cheap but he did a great job

I am a plasterer myself and the going rate is 100-120 a day. Anything under just won't be done right end of story. Theres Loadsa fellas charging 70-90 to get the job but it just Bolli x. There not doing something right for that money. Plastering is not like all the other trades. Two jobs could look the same finished but the process might not of been done right to get this finish so be careful

In fairness to sky6 it did read like you were saying that the plasterer also did plumbing work.

No need to be so rude?

Sorry Dave but I think you need to read your own post. You state he is a good Plasterer then you go on to say he does all the Plumbers work.
    Hence my Question ?

He meant (I think) to say that the plasterer does all the plastering work for the plumber, but that wasn't entirely obvious from his post, at least to me on first reading.

I notice their rates are still well in line with what they were in 2004-07;).

I agree Alun, which was why I thought he was a bit harsh on sky6, no need to abuse people just for asking a question.

Is this sarcasm? If it is then Go spend a day with a few plasterers doing a big house and see how much work is involved and see if you think its reasonable then

Price was 150 including VAT. For 0.5 day. Very good job.

Rates like 2004-2007? Come down off your high horse mate!
Plastering is physically the toughest trade and when done well takes considerable skill so good plasterers are without a doubt worth 150 plus a day.

Good plasterers were getting a lot more than 120-150 per day back then.

It is very cheap if he is not on the dole, charged you VAT & is insured. Otherwise you doubled his dole for him.

I'd have thought €200 per day a reasonable price. As you say tough job & they suffer with bad backs over the years. Also Very few can keep this up till retirement age so their working life can be much shorter than other trades.
