Is there a good way to copy old family photos? Without the negatives?
A siblings birthday is coming up and they'd like duplicates of family photos. I'd like to do something better than the skewed and off centre scan. Maybe even have glossy prints to put in an album to give to her.
Somewhere in Dublin or Kilkenny/portlaoise would be handiest.

P.S. hope this was the right place to post!

It may be because I have a dreadful scanner but I've always found the best way to copy my old photos is to take picture of them with my DSLR.

There is no reason this would be the case with a proper scanner. Any decent DSLR could take a perfectly good copy for reprinting if it is lined up correctly and has good, soft lighting. Any strong lighting will certainly cause reflection on glossy prints.

i have a bulk scanner, can scan 30 images a min

its not fine art reproduction scans but for general use, like your talking about it would be the right kinda thing

i have 5 clients that i have to scan for this week totaling 2400 images!!!!

Talk to Steve (stcstc) he does a great job, you could even get a few special ones printed & framed.
