I live with my GF currently, but only moved in 10 weeks ago and will be moving on again soon.
We are not engaged or in a civil partnership.
    Are we cohabiting?
    Thank you!

    You live together, so yes.

    http://www.welfare.ie/en/Pages/Cohabitation.aspx

A couple who have decided to share together for a temporary period only (e.g. a couple who are unmarried or not in a civil partnership where one party lives elsewhere and is only on holiday in Ireland) are not therefore cohabiting as husband and wife / civil partners and one could not claim an increase for the other as a qualified adult.

As this is the taxation forum , whether you cohabit or not would depend on your personal circumstances , and the allowances you wish to claim for .

You are free to live with your GF , but co-habiting would only be official , if one / both of you wish to claim a tax credit , normally associated with married couples / single parents , or civil partnerships .

Its about status to claim job seekers allowance. Our circumstances will change soon and may have to claim the allowance, for a short time only...
So is the general consensus that we are not co-habiting then? I am very confused by this
    Thank you for the help!

I provided the quote from social welfare's own site.

Temporary. So no. If the case officer gives you hassle have it printed off or they will cut off your dole.
