Registering pedigree limousin calf
Hi. I was just wondering how to i register a pedigree calf , what do I need to register the calf with the society i have the sire tag number but is there anything else i need from the sires info as the breeder and I fall out any help would be appricated

tag number of sire is enough. you also need to have your herd registered with the limo society. we register on line via the ag-food web site all that needs to be done is enter sire no. or code , dam no. and name of calf.

Thanks for the help I thought I might need a DNA profile of the bull as its a English bull that sired my cow but if the tag is only needed I have it so all is good thank for your help again really appreciated

If the sire is not ai, you need to have the stockbull dna tested for pb registering. The other thing aswell to remember if the bull is not yours you might draw trouble on yourself with the dept.

Hi mac Taylor thank you for your help the bull and cow were previously owned my the breeder but he sold the bull and I bought the cow incalf , Is there any other way of registering the calf as I have the bulls tag number but the breeder won't release the DNA profile of the bull ,so does this mean I won't be able to register my calf now ?? ����

You need to ring the Lim society and state your case!

Hi I rang the Irish limousin society and the don't have the DNA profile so I call the British society and the bull was not dna profiled through them so I have more or less no come back on the breeder , can he do that or is there any other of getting it . It's really annoyed me after paying thousands for the cow and not being able to register the calf over a stubborn breeder
