Upgrading my monitor/s

    Hey,

    I am considering upgrading my monitor. I am currently using a Samsung 24" (1920*1080) plus a Samsung 22" (1680*1050).

I was looking at 27" and 29" particularly with a resolution of 2560*1440 like maybe this. Although, this monitor has caught my attention at 2560*1080.

With the 2560*1440 I would be interested to hear from anyone currently using this resolution how the feel about the extra vertical space while web browsing or may be designing. Is it a significant difference over the 1080?

The 3d monitors don't really appeal to me although they do have 120hz but I am not certain about that either.

My current graphics card is the HD 6970 2GB but will hopefully upgrade that too in the near future.

    Any thoughts welcome! :)

I suppose the 29'' would be alright if you wanted an alternative to surround gaming with a single screen or if you watch a lot of films.
Otherwise, I'd probably go for the 27''. It's the bulk of a million pixels of a difference.

Here's a review of the 29'' on one of the best review sites for monitors. They have a review on the 2713HM as well if you dig around a bit.

Another alternative is to get one of those Korean ones from ebay with the same panels for much cheap, albeit poorer stands and controls.

Hmm, I have the 29" one in my basket at the reduced rate but when I view the site in a diff window it says they are sold out at the lower rate. I wonder will honour the price I have in my basket? lol
