Have you tried unplugging the box and re-starting ?

Has it been working before ok? If its a new (to you) box and you have a valid subscription maybe you need to pair the subscription (viewing card) with the box. If you don't have a sky viewing card, you wont get any of the sky plus features. Pause,Record etc.

Plug it out for a few minutes and plug back in again, not just switch it on and off.

Turn your box off at the mains, leave it off for 5 minutes before powering it back up, wait another 4 minutes and then do a "Planner Rebuild".

Seems to be a common issue and a planner rebuild appears to fix it.

Do i lose anything i've recorded, and will this affect my current settings?

I seen you post the same advice yesterday which is completely unnecessary and a bit extreme at this stage anyhow.

There are plenty of other little fixes and tricks that can be tried out before going down that road.

Edit/ sorry BailMeOut that was someone else and not you who posted that yesterday but its not the right thing for now.

Ignore that for now and see if there is something more simpler. Only follow that advice as a last resort.

ok thanks! Sky's help says "rebuilding the Planner will not delete any of your previous recordings. However, the process will interrupt any recordings currently in progress, so it's best to proceed when no programmes are being recorded or are about to be recorded."

I guess from what you are saying that this is not correct.

Is it the live pause button on the box or the remote thats not responding?

    Just from the remote.
I then get an error message after about 5 seconds (for the life of me i cant think what this says as im in work).

Is there room on the box for more recordings?

Im not saying the advice given by Sky is incorrect its just that these things should be left until other simpler methods are used in an attempt to sort the problem.

I have a friend who lost all his recorded stuff in attempting a planner rebuild. It was his own fault though as he went through the process of a system rebuild in error so people need to be sure what they are doing

If its any help the pause button just wore out on my remote and I had to buy a new one. Check if the pause button the box is working when you get home. Might just be a new remote needed.

I had this problem a few weeks back and i had to call sky
and they had to re calibrate the card to the box.
Thew did it there and then but it took an hour or so to take afect.Just have your viewing card number ready when you call.

    Cheers lads.

I dont think the remote is broke as when i press it the box responds.

I'll unplug the system later and take out the card for a while. Hopefully its something simple.
