Offsetting inner leaf reveal in windows for drylining purposes

Am I correct in saying the window frame sits tight to the outer leaf of a cavity wall and in a 6" cavity it will not touch the inner leaf at all. If this is the case then can I assume there is no problem about having the inner reveal offset along the sides and sill so that I can attach a 40mm insulated plasterboard for insulating reasons? I know the cavity closer will have a 40mm board and DPC between it and the outer leaf but I want to add the extra insulation along the inner face.

    Hey mayoman
You are correct on window position, and damp proof course between the window(outside) and external block(inside). i cant see any problems with fitting the insulated board on reveal and sill, just that you will have less of the window visibly showing on those lines.
will the inside walls also be boarded? If so you ll just have notch the insulation on one of either board to gain a neat corner for the plastering reveal. Hope this helps
