Recommendations for Windows & Doors in North West

    Hi All

We have a 2 bed old stone cottage with a rear kitchen & bathroom extension. We got some design advise and our plan over the next 2 years is to build a new entrance to the side of the house and to rearrange the layout to work better for us.
As is the norm with stone cottages the front door at the moment leads straight into the living room from a tiny porch. The porch was a badly built add on by the previous owners and it's got to go. There currently is a glazed door between the porch and the living room where the original front door would have been which we made ourselves to keep some warmth in.
The plan this summer is to knock the porch and replace this glazed door with a glazed exterior door. This will eventually just become like a small patio door to the garden when the new entrance is built but for the next year it will act as our front door. We are up in the hills in Leitrim and even though the site is sheltered we do get some crazy winds and storms so it needs to be well insulated and sealed.
Any recommendations of what type we should go for? Cost is definitely a factor but as it's straight into our living room we know we may need to spend a good bit to make sure we don't have any problems or drafts.
Any recommendations also about suppliers would be very helpful (please PM these)

    Many thanks in advance
