checkin problem with boarding pass

I recently had a problem with checkingin.
I checkedin at home and then presented my boarding pass at security at dublin airport.The pass would not scan,so I had to return to the Aer Lingus checkin area.It wouldnt scan there either,however I was given a new boarding pass.
On my return home from Spain 2 weeks later ,I checked in as usual in an internet shop and printed off my boarding pass.
On presenting this pass at security at Malaga airport ,the same problem arose,wouldnt scan.However I was allowed through.The same problem at the boarding gate,wouldnt scan,however they checked my name against the passenger list and was allowed through.
I've taken this up with Aer Lingus but got no where.They claim it is not a regular problem.I wonder if anyone else has had this experience.
I'm due to travel in 2 weeks time and wonder will I have the same experience.
Also has anyone any idea how I can check this problem out.Is it a bug in my system
