Thinking of getting this frame on the bike to work scheme. has anybody had any experience or first hand info regarding build quality? I've looked online but you tend to get a sales pitch as a review. i know the Vitus bike brand has been relaunched by Chain reaction cycles.

You will need to check, but I don't think, you can buy a frame on the BTW scheme. As far as I know, only complete bikes are covered.

Well then, don't you know quite the people. That's fantastic of them to abuse the great system we have and probably ruin it for people who would actually like to get into cycling.

The BTW scheme is full new full bicycle only. Anything else is tax fraud, plain and simple. I am sure the people you know used a local Irish retailer to 'fix ' an invoice so that it looked like a bike. Good luck getting CRC to do that.

I suppose I should mention something about the fame, it was on sale for €600 a while ago.

I have that frame in Matt Black and Green. It's very light and I find it plenty stiff (although I'm only a littlun - YMMV). I also think it looks pretty great, and the matt finish means it's not prone to scratches or smudges.

I only paid €600 for it though - I might have gone for something else if I was going to spend €1100...
