Going to court over speeding fine eventhough I am proved correct

Last June I got a fixed penalty notice. I had no problem with it but just put payment on the long finger. Eventually it went into the second 28 day period and when I returned from holidays I attemped to pay the fine on the 55th day in August. The lady could not take the payment over the phone. I posted all card details etc to Thurles with card details. I heard no more about it so assumed that the payment was processed. (I used my sisters card and gave her the E120)

I got a summons in the post last month. I phoned Thurles straightaway and the lady verified that they received my details on the 56th day but the payment system was down and they could not process the payment and so the summons automatically issued. She said the superintendent will have to cancel it. I phoned back last week to be told I will have to go to court but the guard will have details of the system being down and also copies of my correspondence with him and proof I did attempt to pay. I was told by the superintendents office to approach the guard before the case to introduce myself.

The court case is this week. I am wondering :

    - Will the court case actually go ahead?

    - When will I now have to pay the E120 fine? Do I need to bring it with me to court or is it re-issued?

    Thanks a lot

I thought this was a miscarriage of justice...in that you hadn't deserved the ticket.

If there is anything other than a court case to clear you then it will be put down to garda corruption. You will be added to 1000000000000 points that have been "deleted"/canceled in the last five years.

I have no problem with the fine.
I attempted to pay the fine on the last day allowable (Day 56) but their payment system was down and so the payment could not be processed and the following day a summons was automatically issued.
The admin department told me that they have evidence that I attempted to pay but could do nothing to stop the summons.
They told me that the guard will have the above on file.

I was just wondering what will happen on the day in court.

    Thanks
