tights UNDER shorts?

not wanting to look like an extra from batman and robin, but when folks wear club/team shorts, are they/do they wear tights under them in cold weather or are they always leg warmers?

Mostly leg warmers as tights under would cause friction in the pad.

I wore a Lidl baselayer under my bibs during the Festive 500. Never caused me any discomfort. As with most saddle-related stuff, YMMV.

Chamois= next to skin. If you want tights either get winter padded ones or you can get unpadded winter tights and wear padded shorts under.

Never wear anything under your shorts. As DV says, chamois = next to skin. If it's really cold I wear winter tights. If it's cold but not overly so, shorts with leg warmers.
