Ive started to get into the running recently, The longest run ive done is 15k on on roads, i do most of my training running across moderate uphill mountain tracks,

i get a pain in the underside of my right foot when im running uphill, once i get on a level surface it goes, Ive got a gait analysis done and im using Nike runners, Ive tried different stretches including rolling a tennis ball under my foot, has anyone any tips on what to do,

i went for a run on friday up a steep hill that i couldnt run to the the top of, So i walked to the top and continued on my run for 10k,

when i woke up on saturday i felt as if id been hit by a lorry, im still stiff today,
i done my usuall streches beforehand,
Would you reckon i just pushed myself too hard ,
i done 15k monday 10k wednesday and a hard 10k on the friday,
    too much:confused:

any tips or ideas would be great,:D

To be honest it sounds more like perfectly normal muscle pain to me, due to lack of fitness.

Gradually build up you fitness and you should soon be able to run up those hills without having to walk, and without feeling as if you had been hit by a lorry the next day.

The key word in the previous sentence is "gradual", btw.
And stretching beforehand is generally a bad idea.

I thought I was building up gradually, ill get to the top soon,

I thought it was the done thing to stretch before hand, warm up my muscles.

    When do u stretch??
    Thanks for replying

Absolutely not. Never stretch a cold muscle! What you can do is to jog a mile or two very easily, that will warm up your muscles. I always take it very easy for the first mile of my run. That's my warm up, every morning.

Me? Never. And I haven't been injured in years.

If you really think stretching is beneficial for you, do some gentle stretching afterwards, but never before exercise.

Having said that, I don't think stretching (or not) is related to you feeling like stiff today. It really sounds like perfectly normal DOMS. Incidentally, I ran a mountain trail yesterday and today I'm feeling sore myself, and tomorrow might yet be worse. But I know that it's just a matter of gradually adapting to the workload. If I keep doing the training in a few months I'll be up and down that mountain without batting an eyelid.
