My band are about to shoot a video for our new single and we want to get our grubby mitts on a 90s VHS camcorder! The lyrics to the song reference our favourite rap album which came out in 1989 and we'd like the video quality to emulate the video quality that camcorders of that time produced.

We haven't been able to find anyone in the real world (!) who has one that they could loan us so I thought I'd submit our request to you fine folk. We'd just like to loan the camera for a day and we'll return it in pristine condition (along with a video credit of course!).

There was one for sale on adverts a while back. Think it was a Panasonic. Guy wanted more than it was worth but by now he might have realised it's actual worth.
Friend of mine got one a couple of years back. It was used in a drama class in Mount Joy and was being retired. Great looking camera.

You could also shoot it with a modern camera and then apply filters to it:

Have a Sony TR805 Hi8 Camcorder that has only seen about 150 hours recording. Purchased new from Conn's Cameras sometime around 1992. Loads of extras, Sigma Wide/Tele Converter, Waterproof Housing SPA-TRA Sports pack enclosure (Waterproof to 2m), Remote Control, Built In Optical Stabiliser called Steady Shot, RFU Adapter, Battery replaced with Uniross VB901059 Ni-Mh and is OK (I think), Unused for several years, Operation Manual, AC-V30 Charger/Power adapter, Leads, straps etc., Soft Case with additional storage compartment, Video Camera Lens Filter Kit VF-52MA and good quality Skiing rucksack (Salomon) which holds everything. €125 (no offers) for everthing, (sorry not interested in lending it)

Hi, 'have a Sanyo camcorder from that era. Seems to be still working after brief check. Battery is dead (of course), eyepiece viewfinder slightly out of focus but video is fine. You're welcome to borrow it for a while, pm me if interested.

    Ephraim.
