So i'm looking for a word to describe a part of a building, lets say we have a house with a garage at one side, sun room at the other side and a porch at front, basically all smaller pieces coming of the main building.

I'm looking for a word or two words together that could describe all these smaller parts coming off main building.

Not looking for a word for an extension, needs to be able to describe any room coming off main house, be it a bedroom, utility, garage or what ever.

Iv been a blocklayer for past 15 years and i cant think of a word that could describe them, but surly there must be a word.

Word need to be easily understood by builders.

    Are you really serious
Are you looking for a word you heard before and have forgotten, or a specific word that you don't know?

In my mind its quite simple.
Built at same time as house then its an annex, built after its an extension. These are words commonly understood by builders.

I think the term you are looking for is outshot, though I reckon there's a bet going on!

An annex can sometimes be used interchangeable with extension for an addition to a building, but the normally usage refers to a separate structure imo. ie a stand alone garage/outhouse/hobby room.

A projection from the main building is called a wing. Particularly if it has a sole purpose and/or is a full projection. So garage, sunroom, etc are wings.

A projection from a facade is a bay. Generally smaller than a wing, often it projects only partially.

appendage? -> Something added or attached to an entity of greater importance or size; an adjunct.
