no audio when using hdmi on vu+duo ?

last nite i plugged out the hdmi lead on my vu+duo cause i plugged in laptop to tv via hdmi,then when i plugged vu+duo back in to tv via hdmi i get no audio.it is fine via scart,any ideas ?.

What kind of TV is it? What image are you using on your Duo?

I'm guessing you could go into AV settings in Setup and ensure that HDMI is enabled, I'd be guessing though that the issue is with your TV not with your Duo, I'd be thinking cause your laptop probably doesn't do audio through HDMI your TV is looking for another Audio source

yes ensured the hdmi was enabled in the menu etc,sound is perfect when using scart.i have plugged back in hdmi and hd picture is grand,still no sound.but i have used 2 phono cables plugged in to L&R on rear of vu+duo and the other 2 phonos to the tv and gone in to tv menu and set hdmi sound to analogue on tv and have the sound working here

but if i sect digital on the hdmi audio option on the tv i get no sound,but when analogue is selected on hdmi audio on tv menu i get the sound via 2 phonos connected to tv and duo.

is it the tv or vu+duo is the problem?.

Is the issue with no sound on HDMI only on HD channels?
Or is it affecting every channel?
You could try going menu>setup>system>A/V settings and set Digital Downmix to Yes.

Done all of the above already,there's no sound on SD or HD channels.

I have sound back now,but only through using 2 phono leads from vu+duo to speaker Phonos on tv with the hdmi sound on tv selected on analogue,as I tryed selecting digital on the hdmi sound menu on tv but that won't give me sound,only getting analogue sound.

I'd say it's the tv that's the problem. I have a Philips with 3xHDMI. VU+, Xbox 360 and PS3 plugged in. If I play the Xbox then I get no sound. What I have to do is switch to the PS3 and turn it on then switch back to the VU before powering down the PS3.
Sounds weird but maybe try the laptop back in and switch it back to the Vu before powering off. Or failing that shut down the tv completely for about 30 seconds before trying the VU.
