    Hello there,

I was very sick this past week and missed all of my college days. Because of this my assignments are going to be handed in late. I'm better now but I wanted to know will the doctor still give me a doctors note saying i was sick or will i have to pay again?

    Thanks :)

Phone in and tell the receptionist you forgot to ask for a sick note, and would she mind asking the doctor to do one up for you. There may be a small fee for the note itself, but you should just be able to collect if from reception.

There should be no charge just to get a note, assuming you've seen the doctor this week.. Ring the surgery and explain to the receptionist what you need. She should organise it for you and have it ready when you call in.

Did you contact your lecturers and agree a late submission? Pretty sure you can't just swan in with a cert without contacting them first.

Have you tried just asking your doctor? He will probably know better than we will. If you haven't already cleared the late submissions with the college then it probably won't matter and you will get penalised anyway.

If you did see your doctor during the week they will give you a note explaining that you were sick.

Most doctors never charged me extra for the note, but one did. I can't remember exactly how much, but it wasn't expensive. Good luck with your assignments :)

I can't believe you're the 22nd person who wanted to be called thebants.

Did you consider adding a z instead of an s? You could have been dabantz.

The boobs are a bit of a giveaway.

(Though I acknowledge that this evidence alone may not be conclusive for some AHers).

    You can write it yourself:

Dear Sir I write this note to you to tell you of my plight
For at the time of writing I am not a pretty sight
My body is all black and blue, my face a deathly grey
And I write this note to say why Paddy's not at work school today.

Anyway thanks for the information some of you. My deepest apologies to those who were offended by the username, and I endeavor never to use such a derogatory term again. (Sarcasm doesn't really work when you're hiding behind a computer screen does it?).

If you mean me, I genuinely didn't know what the fuss was over your user name. I've heard the word banter all right, but never heard of bants :/

I'm sure you're lovely really :pac:
