Hi all. I am travelling to palma from Shannon in the summer and just wondering how Shannon airport manage ryanairs priority boarding.

I have used it in knock on numerous occasions, Edinburgh, Faro, Gerona etc and was on the plane first. Usually the let the priority q trough first then the rest but not sure of the process in shannon.

Also with regards to Palma airport, i haven't been in years do ryan air bus people to the plane etc and if so how to they manage priority. Would i be right to check in 3hrs in palma as i believe the q for baggage drop is huge.

The exact same way its done in every other airport Ryanair use.

Why do you wonder if they'd do things any differently in Shannon ?

Because, if they bus people to plane its not worth the cost

When they bus people to the plane, priority passengers are given the front of the bus and allowed off the bus first. In some airports the rear doors remain closed until the passengers up front have dismounted.

Not an issue in Shannon as passengers walk to the aircraft.

In Palma, they don't use buses, you walk onto the plane through a chute so the priority boarding is definitely worth it in my opinion. I'm not sure about the bag drop as I've only had hand luggage and have only been in Palma in October when it's quiet so we just arrived an hour before our flight. I'd imagine it's very busy in August.

I can't understand Ryanair's priority boarding. What is the point of standing in a queue for longer than normal people only to have a choice between a planeful of identical seats? I like to board last so that I can choose a seat that is not next to a rowdy drunk or other obnoxious passenger!

Don't get your logic. If you're the last on board and the flight is full then you'll have no choice where to sit except the one remaining seat which probably will be beside the obnoxious drunk.

I got on a Birmingham Ryanair flight last and ended up in the aisle seat of one of the very front rows, so I got off first. LOL at those who pay for priority.
