It can be done but it's a lot of hassle. There are plenty of commercial Santa Fe models for sale why not buy one of them and save yourself the trouble?

Thanks for the reply George, there are a lot of good 5 seaters for sale and they are 2ltr diesel- high road tax so i reckon id get one cheaper as people cant afford to tax them as cars nor can i, however i have a vat no. and can tax commercially, the thinking is that i'll get a good one switch it to commercial and tax it for €330 instead of €1000. thats the plan anyway......:)

I don't think there would be any saving at all, particularly when you take into account the fact that you can reclaim the VAT on the purchase price of the commercial.

I thought they'd stopped being able to convert to commercial. They need to be factory made to get commercial tax. On phone so can't search, but nearly certain it's been covered on this site before.
