Ok I had a thread up about a 407 earlier but have decided after reading a thread linked have decided a second hand one is a bad idea.

A Tucson is also a possibility. Anybody know much about these? I know of the clutch issues in a Santa fe, are these common to the Tucson or are the Tucson trouble free?

Far as I know, the 6 speed models are less problematic than the 5 speed, and obviously the 2WD have less to go wrong than 4WD

How do you end up at a Tucson if you were looking at a 407?

Really anything reliable that is in the 4-5k price range, reliable and family friendly for a 2+2 family and a dog. We would like about 05 to 07 as we want to get about 4-5 years relatively inexpensive motoring. As the meerkat says, simples.
