Just heard this on the scanner, "shamrock 1437 direct to barkway". It's a Boeing 757 see pic attached. Thought it was very late for a shamrock with that flt number to appear on the scanner. Took a look at fr24. Can anyone shed any light?

It is a Titan airways 757. It done the DUB-Milan route this evening I believe.

Titan are used by EI and others as ad-hoc charters to cover some of their flights due to technical or operational reasons.

The 757's have not been officially announced by EI, could be in the coming weeks.

There's currently a Virgin on approach to DUB now too, apparently something to do with EI also. What is it?

I think this has being covered previously and the paint job. It is an Aer Lingus A320 but it and some others have been leased to Virgin.
Probably coming to Dublin for maintenance.

Virgin are wet leasing 3 A320s from Aer Lingus for their 'Little Red' service from LHR to Manchester, Edinburgh and Aberdeen.

I thought the same myself for a second when I saw the 75 on Flight Radar last night. Titan do a lot of work for EI at times, good airline based out of STN. I wonder will we see them operate more for them for a period with a couple of EI airframes gone to Little Red... ?

Doubt it. EI would not have leased aircraft to VS only to leave themselves short. The leasing money would be hovered up pretty quick by having to get Titan in 1-2 times a month.
I would hazard that the Titan hire-in was to do with a sick EI A320/1 in DUB. As for doing DUB-STN, I would guess that is the ferry to home base after doing the EI flight.

They are a little short at the minute. 1 A319 arrived yesterday and until the the other arrives very soon they will be a little short and then there was a A320 tech in NOC on Friday which streched them and Air Contractors were drafted in.

Thought that myself, but it landed in Stansted. EI don't use Stansted. Bit of a puzzler.

I believe EI have left themselves short, and the outstanding 319s can't enter service soon enough for them.

Only 1 flight cancelled for the month and that is a LHR flight otherwise they are not short, the 319's are here on time as its May before the whole EI summer season starts. Having more than one aircraft with tech issues, not you average fault as they were out of service for over a day is why aircraftwere subbed in and this usualy dosn't happen. More that one tech aircraft for a longer period of time with EI causes problems and that was the case last summer.

The Helsinki flight at the weekend was flown by Air Contractors.
