lock nut

    i bought a 2004 audi A6,but the lock nut tool is missing.
    im looking to get them removed,but cant afford 50 euro that i have been quoted.
    has anyone here got one that i can bring the car to them and use it.

    Have dealt with lots of these, usually a half inch drive allen key type socket of the right size will open them.
    Most lock nuts are not very hard to get off at all.
    If its not catching though stop before harm is done :)

    i have tried the half inch but its not engaged enough,slips off.
    i think they are on very tight.i never tighten them much more than hand tight

    I had the same issue with a bmw 520 - I just found out the refernce number of the lock not and contacted a bmw dealer - tenner for a new one

    Have a problem with a Ford S-max lock nut - the key slipped off one when tightening. Rang local Ford Dealer and quoted €25 for a replacement key sand €50 for a replacement set of lock nuts plus key. Not cheap!

    Ok, dosent make sense to me. I dont mean to be offensive but, you can afford to buy a 04 A6 but cant afford e50 to remove the security nuts!!! I'm probably going to be shot down in flames now.

    so you would happily pay someone 50 euro to loosen 4 bolts?
    i dont have much money but i do try to spend what i have wisely
