about 8 months now, does that mean I have to do all this new crap that has come in?

I was on my first license, in Canada the past year.

Sorry thought that this was learning to drive but my question applies to bikes and cars as both are in there. I was on my 2nd bike provisional and 1st car.

    It was a Learner Permit.

No, the new rules do not apply to you. Only if your license had expired by 5 years or more would it apply.

No, as it only expired this year you will be fine, it needs to have expired 5 years or more before having to start again.

    Simple renewal, with this form.

You'll need to prove a driving test for bike has either been booked or failed in last 2 years before it will be renewed, the car is straight forward as mentioned.

Do you not also have to prove you have a test booked or attempted a test within the last year?

You need to have a test booked now or have failed a test in last 2 years
This is for the person on 2nd bike permit, looking for his 3rd, his car is clear to renew as it's just their 2nd permit they're applying for.

Hi guys, I have similar problem. well my permit i s going to expired in next month, this is my 3rd permit so I have to apply for 4rd time but I didn't take any driving test so far and I still don't want to do that soon because I didn't driving last year at all. Do I have to book my driving test anyway to get my next permit? If yes Can I book it for next year even in a long time in advance (like July? I'm pregnant and I know I won't have time much so my baby is due in 2 month time) ??? Is anyone know?

Surprised you didnt have to apply for a test for permit 3 but you can postpone it twice without loss of fee. Ring them at that point and explain your situation

Are you sure about the theory test part? I passed my theory test and got my learners permit in 2007, but it expired last year while away. Im under the impression I need to do a theory test again, is that correct? If not, how do I get a copy of certificate I passed it?

Permit can be renewed if less than 5 years expired, if you still have it?

    Hi

I have my 3rd learner permit and i just done the test today and did not get it, so i need to get a new learner permit, the problem i have is my learner permit is out of date since 13-Oct-13 (9 days out of date, they still let me do my test today but).

So when i send in my application Form – D201 Learner Permit for a new one will i get it or will they make me start from the start again (so the theory and the 12 driven lessons)

My wife is due to give birth on 04-Nov, does it mean i can not drive until i get my new learner permit , if so does anyone know how long it takes or if there is a quick way to get my new learner permit?

Can't understand how/why they took you out without a valid licence

You will just get a renewal.

You can drive while its in for renewed as its a continuation of a licence.
You can drive once you obey the Learner Permit requirements eg being accompanied, L plates etc

The first thing I did and I saw most people do after the test is rip down the l plates .

Once you have a copy of certificate of competency and copy of the learner permit you should be grand.

Can't see a guard wasting his time over not having the full licence yet. It's not anyone's fault but the waiting times for the new licences have gotten bad. Just look at all the true learners unaccompanied. Bigger fish to fry as they say.

Yea i know, he checked it too, that is good news, i will take copy of licence and all before i send it away. He failed me too because of speed bumps, ie not moving over to the left of the road so the two wheels dont go over them
