The Dublin Model Car Club is having an open day at its track in The Naul, Co. Dublin.
At the club we race 1/10th scale electric off-road buggies, however on May 11th we are opening the track to any electric RC cars.
So if you have any scale or type you think might be able to get around the track you are welcome to bring it along and have a go.
We will also be running some formal races to give you an idea of what RC racing is all about.
There will be plenty of seasoned racers at the track to give you any information or advice, so even if it`s something that interests you, come along to check it out.

We can`t allow any nitro cars due to it being indoors.

See our website for more details www.dublinmodelracing.com
If you have any questions you are welcome to ask here and I`ll do my best to answer them

    Great!
I have a E Revo VXL 1/16 that I mainly use for FPV.
Would it be possible to join and do a couple of runs on the track in FPV? :)

The open day is for any scale, so you are more than welcome.
We have tried some small scale stuff and they can easily get around the track.

Doors will be open from 10am, see the link above for a map.

There is no charge to run a car on that day.

like my 1/43 Brookspeed Viper? I'm not giving this up for a Carmageddon type scenario. I have put a camera on it too.

    Check this out:

look at the berry and the footpath to gauge the size of the thing.

    That thing is small... :)

Last time I tried with my E-Revo.

Yes, I wasn't going that far. The radio is really bad and It doesn't give me more than 30 - 40mts of range.
Need to get a better one.

I think 1/43 scale might be a little lost on the track, but if you have an interest in RC cars its worth a trip out to have a look. :)
Ill warn you though... its addictive.

As for the E-Revo, if there is enough interest in this 1/16 class we may look at running regular races for them.

Quite interested in that crawling class. Is there anything for that going on around Dublin?

Lads, if you have crawlers, bring them along. You might get a few racers into it!

Actually, I'll bring along something. Not the little Viper tho - in retirement - something else with a little Pi and Monitor. I'll need some power points too. (3 I think)

    Power isn't a problem, there's power there.

Just a quick reminder that our open day is on this coming Saturday.

Its located in The Naul Co Dublin.
Take exit 6 off the M1. Follow the signposts for naul, (drive west).Stay on this road all the way to Naul village.
At the junction in Naul turn right (signposted for Drogheda).
Continue straight for approx. 1km and the entrance is on the left hand side close to the top of the hill.
We will have a Dublin model car club sign outside to make finding the gate easier.

It will be a relaxed day, and will give anyone a chance who is interested to talk to people to get a bit of information.

    Thanks a lot

Paid a visit yesterday along with two friends. Great facilities and a nice friendly group.

I'm sure we'll be back at some stage ?

    Thanks again !

Sort yourself out with a 1:10 buggy and start coming down. There's all levels there to suit.
If you never raced before, go every weekend. You'll get half decent fairly quickly.

    That was great fun! :)
