A sibling has been appointed administrator of deceased parents estate. They are refusing to sell property and distribute estate with delaying tactics or pass on any information on estate. It has been several years, would the best course of action to be try get them removed as administrator? Communication has broken down, would a solicitor be needed for this process?

Your best course of action is to talk to a solicitor.

I would find it difficult to pay solicitors fees, have you any advice on how to find an experienced reliable solicitor? Have not been able to get any reccommendations from family or friends.

The best way to find an experienced, reliable solicitor is to get a recommendation from trusted family or friends.

I would suggest that you should try again. There is likely to be some friend or family member who is in a position to recommend a reliable, experienced solicitor.

If you really can't find any friend or family member who can recommend an experienced, reliable solicitor, then you could ask an accountant or other trusted person that you may know. GPs sometimes recommend solicitors.

You can have an administrator removed for delay/unwillingness to administer the estate, the cost of this is usually comes from the estate as it is an estate expense. A good solicitor will be able to advise on this.
