    Hi All,

My breaks are still squeaking after new pads, just found a thread that said copper grease should sort this out? I am going back to the garage but don't want to be taken for a ride!

    Thanks,

Whatever you do don't put any grease on the pads or discs.

yep, they may have forgotten the copper grease on the back of the pad. I saw somewhere that some dipshit put copper grease on his actual brake discs to stop the squealing. please don't do this. Yes it stops the squealing.... but your brakes wont stop your car anymore.

but yeah, just tell them the brakes are squealing, they should do it free of charge. They should have done the job right the first time around and tested it though.

I will take it back I was wondering about greasing the breaks, it really does not sound right!! Would not dream of going anywhere near them myself with a tub of grease.

Bring it back and ask them to put grease on the back of the pad and ask them if shims were fitted along with the pads. Do not pay them anything, they should have applied a little copper grease first time so don't fall for any excuses they may give you and don't mention money or payment prior to them doing the job but if they do ask simply say they should have done it properly first time.
