    Hey,

I'm only fifteen years old and although I'm not entirely sure about joining the army, I wanted to know if I could join even though I have asthma?

    Thanks.

Depends on its severity. the medical officer will say yes or no

Well, I've had it since I was twelve and have had a single asthma attack in that time frame. I used to compete in MMA fights and not have an asthma attack, along with MMA training for years up in my club in Clare.

Obviously it's different but all I'm saying is that I'm able to do vigorous physical training without an asthma attack. I've heard that you automatically become exempt if you were diagnosed beyond the age of twelve or something. I was diagnosed at twelve, and I also have OCD though that's under control now.

If you mean Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, I imagine that's a bigger issue for the recruiter, it is after all a mental illness.

But quite frankly I am uninformed on PDF recruiting standards.
Either way, I hope it all works out for you!

Are you asking for yourself or for someone else mate?

    Myself.

The OCD is a mental illness but I have it under control now.

You're 15? Yet you posted this in thread entitled ''Most outrageous thing I have ever done''
Another thing I did when I was younger was drive to Dublin and spent money I was supposed to purchase a new television with on drugs. I ended up sleeping in my car after taking a decent amount of LSD.

    Was not fun.

    I recognised your username.

As well as taking hallucinogenic drugs you also owned and drove a car before you were 15?

oh and just as a side note, if you took anywhere near the amount of LSD that you get for the price of a telly, you'd be dead in seconds.
