pick me a laptop..under €400

    looking for laptop basically for browsing, word processing etc. dont know a whole lot bout spec's etc but just looking for the best for my money

    Take your pick. Make sure it's a 3rd generation processor (Core i3 3110M).

    You're buying a Core i3 budget laptop, they are pretty much all the same, but if you have a favourite brand...

    It's a Core processor of the current generation. A Core i3 2330M, for example, would be a member of the previous generation.

    thanks. is it dual or quad core

    As you seem to know laptops could you pick the best sony vaio under 500 from laptop direct

    Dual core.

    The only quads are certain i7 models, recognizable by the suffix QM, e.g. a Core i7 3630QM

    There are three Vaio E15 with Core i3 processor and 4 GB RAM from €490 to €498, the cheapest has only a 500 GB HDD, the two otheres have a 750 GB HDD, only the colour is different.

    (discard the other two models, one has a Pentium CPU, the other an AMD Fusion APU)

    hi, i'm not seeing many windows 7 laptops still available. would prefer it to win 8 and looking for hdmi port and 15.6" screen.
    there's a samsung i3 3110m for 460 on laptopsdirect. any other god sites to check?

    edit: closes spec in acer with win 8 is 90 cheaper - is this acer or are microsoft pushing discounts on win 8?

    If you a laptop with Windows 8 Pro, you're entitled to a free downgrade to Windows 7 Professional.

    Or get a laptop from PC Specialist configured to your likings while they still offer the choice between Windows 7 and 8.

    how come windows 7 went so quick?Why would they offer people downgrade instead od supplying more 7's?
