@ Superquinn (Heuston South Quarter, Dublin at least), in the offer leaflet as €6.25 €4, but in fact scanning at half price, making it €3.13 for 55 servings - 100g. This applies to the Regular and Intenso. Cheaper than the small tin! :)

    It is what it's.

    Not too shabby alright.

But if I was stuck and had to have instant coffee, I'd be going for Kenco Millicano over this.

I'd be the opposite, Azera all the way.

Personally I'd go for neither- and get some Carte Noir instead. That Kenco Millicano reminds me of chalk on a blackboard- I have no idea how/why people hold it in such esteem.

I always find that the millicano leaves thick coffee goo in the end of my mug. I don't know how else to describe it but coffee goo.

Nescafé Expresso is the best instant you can get. 2 heaped tea spoons in a mug.

Not cheap though. It's around €5.80 a jar and in flying through them.

Found the Azera far too mild personally..

Can you really put Nespresso in the same league as instant coffee though?

It's like comparing top notch steak with Tesco Value "Beef" Burgers.

I'd hardly compare Nespresso to 'top notch steak'.
If it's top notch, what do you compare proper freshly roasted and freshly ground coffee to?

I'm not saying it's top notch.. I'm saying Nespresso is not in the same league as "high class instant coffee" in my opinion.

FWIW - I make fresh coffee each morning (via a Grind & Brew machine) - and would much rather this to the likes of instant coffee / high class instant coffee and Nespresso. But I'm just saying comparing Nespresso with those is a little unfair!

Those instant coffees are meant to be just that.. need water and a kettle.. done. Nespresso's need a specialised machine.

Since I bought a Phillips Saeco coffee machine, all instant coffee tastes like muck,:D

I think he meant the glass jar of nescafe espresso rather than the Nespresso pods.

Haven't tried the pods yet but I'd agree that the espresso(jar) is nice for instant coffee

Kobe beef, if you're sticking to the steak anology that'd be the next step up I guess. :pac:
