I've noticed a few of these knocking around on people's dashboards
There's 2 people I know who have them up on their cars and I'm fairly sure they are not in the fire service or any other emergency services .
What's the advantage of displaying theses ?
They seem to be getting more common lately too .

Thought those became popular after the twin towers?

Majority who have these signs do serve fire services department,or are on a reserve/backup ,but if car has that sign it doesn't mean that fireman has to be driving it all the time, basically any family member can use the car so it might confuse some people at that.Otherwise you dont have any advantages, same as yellow lights on builders vans.
