    Hi,
I have looked though the various threads but could not see any discussion on the issue of the requirement for an element of renewable energy technology to be included as part of Bldg Reg compliance requirement for a domestic house extension.- so, apologies if this has been discussed - but can anyone offer an opinion ?
If one is building a house extension at present, there is a requirement for the works to comply with current Bldg Regs -so, for say a 25 sqm extension to the rear of a terrace - all the fabric elements need to comply - but how does one deal with the requirement for the minimum provision for renewable energy technology - 10 kwh/m2 - what is the simplest and least cost way of complying with this part of the Regs ?
    opinions appreciated.

There is no requirement for renewable energy technology in connection with a domestic extension.

Only thing that come close in relation is that if you upgrading the heating system to the existing house and/or replacing the boiler, this should comply with Part L.

    Thanks DOCARCH
It would appear that I am misunderstanding this section of Part L !
