New album out in June and the first taster is "I Will Steal You Back".

Looking forward to the record and tour.

Love Jimmy Eat World, hopefully the tour will get to Dublin.

Cracking song. I know a lot of the old school fans didn't like Chase This Light and were iffy on Invented, but I loved them. I've loved every album they've ever put out there, and this song bodes well for Damage. Can't wait.

Haven't properly listened these guys since Futures. Heard a few songs from Chase This Light and thought they sounded very generic and safe. I like the new song so I might give their new album a shot when it's released.

I never got into Futures or Clarity. Just Bleed American, but I'm still looking forward to this for some reason

You should definitely give Clarity a listen, in my view it's their best album. Futures is decent enough. They're not a band I listen to much these days but when I do they bring back a flood of good memories of being in secondary school.

I've tried listening to both, and they're alright - they're just not Bleed American!

sometimes unfortunately we judge music according to the time and place we heard it in rather than judging the music itself - would you agree?

There would be some truth in this. Some people tend to develop an emotional attachment to an album and associate it with a particular time and place and listen to the album over and over again. I know this because I've done so myself. Bleed American seems to have that kind of effect on some people and when it comes to listening to their other stuff they don't seem to impact the listener as much.

Clarity might not be Bleed American but at the same time Bleed American just isn't Clarity. They're two different albums with their own strengths. I'm probably more biased towards Clarity because it contains my favourite JEW song, 'Just Watch The Fireworks'.

I'm prob in the minority but my immediate 'go to' JEW albums are Futures and Invented.

Bleed American, while I love, has become more of a nostalgic listen. Clarity and Chase This Light I like just not as much as the other three (I haven't heard all of Static Prevails).

Overall though the albums I have fully heard from them are pretty solid at the least.

So the album is a bit disappointing, ten songs with few memorable moments.

Found out they're playing Chicago when I'm there in August but tickets are sold out

Don't like it at all really, very bland, very slow. Huge disappointment. Have listened to it a few times and nothing is really growing on me. Oh well, maybe they have one last good album in them in a couple of years.

Didn't really like it at first but it's kind of growing on me. I do like a few songs on it, it's safe and it's Jimmy Eat World but still, it's not as good say as Futures and Chase This Light personally.

My impressions so far are its the sound of a band who've lost their way a bit - some decent songs but little to no heart in it.

I really didn't like Invented, and I'm glad to say this is definitely a step up from it in my opinion. Futures and Bleed American will probably always stay as my favourite Jimmy Eat World albums though.

Any word on a tour yet? Need to see them!

I'm a huge fan - listened to pretty much nothing but JEW from the ages of 16 to 20 - but this a very uninteresting album. JEW by numbers. Sigh.

Add me to the list of those disappointed. The songs aren't bad, they're just not very interesting at all and are like a collection of album fillers or B-sides. Very disappointing stuff.
