So I need to build a gaming p. for as cheap as possible starting from scratch. So far this is what I have and nearly everything is from amazon and includes a rough guesstimate at shipping prices to Dublin.

Case: NZXT Source 210 tower elite black. €45
    Processor: AMD A10-5800k. €104
    RAM: corsair vengeance blue 8gb (2X4). €46
Hard Drive: western digital 1 terabyte 7200 rpm. €60
    Motherboard: MSI FM2-A75MA-E35. €50
PSU: corsair 500 watt psu with 80+ bronze rating efficiency. €45
That comes to about €349 for the tower.

    The peripherals are:
    Monitor: ASUS VH238H black 23" monitor. €130
Keyboard and mouse: Logitech media combo mk200. €25

That brings the total cost of the tower and peripherals to €504.

However, just to give the computer a little bit more ooomph I was thinking of upgrading it as soon as I can afford to with
Graphics Card: AMD sapphire raedon HD7770 1GB. €90
    SSD: Samsung 840 series 2.5 inch 120GB SSD. €80

I intend to use the computer for gaming such as Team Fortress 2, L4D2 and minecraft with the occasional bit of Arma 3 and day z. And a small bit of YouTube on the side.

How do you think this computer would suit me. I hope to upgrade it as I goin on by adding more ram and maybe a better graphics card to replace the raedon 7770 in a year or two. I don't intend on playing any games that are extremely intensive graphics wise like BF3 or Far Cry 3.

Please let me know what you think.

If you fill this out people will be able to help you out more

    1. What is your budget? €500

    2. What will be the main purpose of the computer? Gaming/YouTube. Team fortress 2 minecraft L4D2 arma3 dayz CSS and Garry's mod.

    3. Do you need a copy of Windows? No

    4. Can you use any parts from an old computer? No

    5. Do you need a monitor? Yes

5a. If yes, what size do you need. Anything above 22" I guess I'm not sure what I would need for gaming

    6. Do you need any of these peripherals? Keyboard/mouse

    7. Are you willing to try overclocking? Yes

    8. How can you pay? Credit card

    9. When are you purchasing? [Next 3 months

    10. If you need help building it, where are you based? [South Dublin City

If you're not intending on playing graphically intensive games as you've stated, then you're a perfect candidate for such a build. However, you could easily afford to lower the PSU to a 350-400w one, as even with a 7770 you wouldn't come close to stressing a 500w psu. That said however, it's possible to build a tower with a 7770 in that €350 budget. Swap the board for a basic b75 S1115 model, and go with something like an Intel G2020 - 100 should cover that in total. Given the saving on board and CPU, and on buying a lower wattage PSU ( a quality 350w would easily cover it), should cover most of the cost of buying a 7770. A G2020 with 7770 will outclass an 5800K in games effortlessly, at a similar cost in this context.

You're not going to do any better than that no matter where you look. Good for the games you've mention at high settings, and even those you mentioned as examples as what you wouldn't be playing at high settings. Not to mention, the socket type offers you future upgrade potential with yet unreleased CPUs.

As a side note, can you believe, that Maplins sell a bundle with the A8, 8GB ram and board for....wait for it....€430. Almost reduces me to tears to think of people handing over cash for that. Especially when Maplins actually have a very reasonably priced FX4100/8GB/Board bundle for €170 in their clearance section.

Wow that sounds great and would it cost much more to upgrade that graphics card to 2Gbs incase I decide to play more graphic intensive games down the line?

If you want a 2GB card, you'd want to be gaming at 1080P for it to make a difference; even at that, a 2GB 7770 isn't going to make much sense given the limitations of the card itself at the point where excess of 1GB vram is necessary. I would say at that point, a 2GB 7850 - possibly a 7790, though current pricing makes the 7790 largely redundant - is the sweet spot, at about €160. For those games you've mentioned, I'd stick with Bloodbath's build, no hassle down the line to sell the 7770 and buy a new card, and the 7770 is more than capable of powering most new games at 720P at high settings.

Ok do ill stick with the new build and wait until the 7770 becomes redundant before buying a better graphics card.

He's going to be playing at 1080p. Still terror is right. A 7790 or 7850 is probably as low as I'd go for a 2gb card.

You might get slightly better deals on these cards elsewhere.

Talking about it in another post you should consider stretching your budget to get this monitor.

    http://www.hardwareversand.de/58+cm+%2823%29+/62093/LG+Flatron+IPS234V.article

It's an ips panel compared to the tn panel on the hannspree which will give it better viewing angles and better color. It's also a bit bigger and has a hdmi connection.
