Great overall machine with a lot of overclocking potential. I'm in Athlone too if you need a hand with anything.

There are technically-inclined people in Athlone?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,299 ✭✭✭✭BloodBath

Haha I'm not from Athlone originally although where I'm from maybe considered even less technically proficient :)

Bloodbath, what thermal paste do you recommend?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,299 ✭✭✭✭BloodBath

The cooler comes with decent paste. You will only see a couple of degrees difference from top brand stuff.

Can't go wrong with a bit of mx-4!

Yeah bit for a few quid it does't hurt to have some spare knocking about.

The cooler master stuff that comes with it performs 1c better according to this.

Not much between any of the better stuff though tbh.

Mayonnaise is ok if you're on a budget :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,299 ✭✭✭✭BloodBath

Any error messages? What kind of shut down? It just power's off or does window go through shut down?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,815 ✭✭✭Burgo

What errors showing up in event viewer?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,943 ✭✭✭Tropheus

Does the Nanoxia Deep Silence come with fans? It shows 3 fans in the pictures. Thinking of getting this case myself. Just wondering if I need additional fans.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,299 ✭✭✭✭BloodBath

It comes with 3. You could get 2 more if you want more airflow.

it just completely shuts down(like the power was switched off) and restarts, windows gives no error or anything.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,299 ✭✭✭✭BloodBath

It's hardly windows automatic updates? Have you seen it do this and as burgo says see if there are any errors in the event viewer.

    Just windows search "event viewer".

    I have no idea dude.

Try testing the ram with memtest.

Check your cpu temps and psu voltages with hwmonitor.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21 Espresso99

Ok ill test them tomorrow, iv been monitoring temps of the CPU and gpu since day 1 so I don't think it them. Ill look at the ram and psu tomorrow.

Looks and sound like a faulty ram module. So many people getting faulty RAM atm :(

    Run memtest86

    http://www.memtest86.com/

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21 Espresso99

memory test passed with no errors...could it be the psu, is the wattage too low?

450w should be plenty.. I'm not trying to sound smart here but check all the cabling is in correctly.. I had an issue where my comp would just power off randomly and turned out it was a dodgy power cable to the motherboard that moved enough to cut power now and again

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21 Espresso99

naaa they're all in fine, hasn't done it yet today mind you. so hopefully its stopped.

well the pc didn't random restart yesterday, but rather didn't turn on. so i tried everything, different psu, unplugged every device separately to check if it was a device causing it, reset the bios. turns out the battery used in the mobo was gone. my oddest computer experience ever :/

Just noticed you grabbed an amd card, make sure to get in on the never settle reloaded offer, you get Bioshock, Crysis and Blood Dragon for buying one.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21 Espresso99

I dont think hardwareversand participate. I didn't receive a "AMD Gaming Evolved Unique ID card ".

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 153 ✭✭Patrick 1

I shall direct you here good sit, it appears they do participate, you just need to poke them with an e-mail.
