I've found a small oil leak on my Ford Focus. It's 08 with about 80k on the clock and is in a similar location to the one below.

I suspect I will be replacing the head gasket. What should I expect to pay if this the case?

    Thanks

I'm not a mechanic but that looks like the breather pipe to me which has a common problem of leaking oil if the clip is broken or a crack forms. The clip is very poorly designed and very easy to break when removed by someone not familiar with them when changing the air filter. I had a Volvo S40 with that engine and I had to have mine replaced too, afaik the Volvo part is more expensive than the Ford part.

Would it not be the exact same thing?

I think they were slightly different but not 100% sure. Despite using the same engine there were some components among the different brands that were not the same.

I'm going to have a good look at this tomorrow. Thanks for the info, appreciate it!
