Samsung LCD TV one thick white band on screen

    HI all experts.
    Its a thick white band vertically about left middle of the tele.
    Any idea what its caused by . tele is just 2 years old. :( cant afford a new tele now really hand to mouth right now.
    any idea if I could fix it ?
    my 3 year old is tell me he puched the tele and 'threw milk on tv'
    dont know how much i can trust what hes saying though.
    I have seen him go kiss the tele before.
    any help from there :(( really annoyed cos cant call out anyone to fix

    There are some common TV faults that could be checked and/or repaired byt someone who is very technically capable (ie good with repairing computers etc). Things like loose cables (internally), bad tconn boards etc. But a lay person would not be capable of it, and should not attempt it.

    If it's the panel itself that is damaged then its a major job and almost the cost of a new TV.

    Before considering anything I would check if the TV is under warranty. Even if the manufacturer/shop warranty is only 1 or 2 years, under consumer law a TV should last a 'reasonable' period which would certainly be longer than 1 or 2 years.

    If it is found that the problem was caused by user damage then of course it would not be covered by warranty.
