I have a 2012 Passat that seems to be refusing any software updates, main dealer is a bit stumped. There is an update due on it for an issue but they cannot get it uploaded. Car is under warranty so obviously want it sorted.

Has anyone come across this before or found a workaround?

    Much appreciated.

I'd advise you not to get involved. It's VW's problem, and any well-meaning attempt to help might be used against you if it all goes wrong. Christ, i'm getting old and cynical.

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

Failing that plug it out for 10 minutes.

Close all the open windows first...

Never mind, was just interested if anyone had seen this before. The dealer is working to get to the bottom if it and has been very attentive so far.

Ive seen it happen on Mercedes cars in the past, Usually there tends to be a problem with the communications port in the ECU. Either a replacement or a firmware update can sort it out. But MAKE SURE the garage sorts this problem out while it is under warranty... Some unscrupulous garages will try push this out until the car is out of warranty and you could be landed with a nice bill..
