    Hi folks,

I'm returning to college in September to study Archaeology & Ancient History and The History of Art & Architecture under the TSM programme. In the past few weeks I've been hit with a feeling that I'm wasting my time doing this particular course; that job prospects will be virtually non-existent; and that I'm essentially taking part in an Arts degree. I previously studied Theoretical Physics in Trinity three or four years ago, but decided to drop out after one year because I didn't enjoy the course. This time I promised myself I would do something that I love, regardless of career prospects — a decision that will prove to be either foolish or wise in time.

Specifically, I'm wondering what people who have done this course, or something similar, have gone on to do? I have my heart set on museum work, as a curator or something similar, so I imagine this course to be a useful means to that end.

Well, yes, yes it is an Arts degree by its very nature. In terms of career prospects, I know a lot of people who have studied subjects in the Humanities and gone on to get interesting jobs.

If you´re interested in curation then the M. Phil. in Public History may also interest you when you finish.
