I currently have a blocked nose and feel like I've a cold. Amazingly this has happened the last 4 times the donation centre had visited.

Can I still donate even though I'm under the weather?

No as whatever you have could be spread through the blood to a patient who isn't able to fight the infection.

There are a few clinics constantly open in Dublin and there used to be one in cork - maybe the next time you're going somewhere and have a free hour see if there is a clinic locally?

Full list of reasons why people might be turned away available on the IBTS site here. If you have a cold, you can't donate until you have recovered.

Fair play for considering a donation all the same!

Well it costs nothing and could help out someone. My organs are mine for now so I can give blood. :)
