Anyone receive a garda fixed penalty notice lately? Advice needed

    Anybody receive an fixed penalty notice lately ? How long from the period of your offense to receiving the notice in the post ???

    Normally 2-3 weeks, but anything up to six months.

    Thanks for the quick reply paulw . I'm just trying to get an idea of current waiting times for these notices to arrive . I'm now waiting 12 weeks for a notice

    It should be before three months as they need to give 56 days to pay as well as time to summons in the case of nonpayment.

    But is it not 56 days to pay from the time of the offender receiving the notice in post ?

    Yes. A summons must be issued within 6 months. So if you are to allow 56 days for payment and time for summons issuing that will take up a large amount of the last 3 months.
