    Hey boardsies

I'm currently thinking of changing my fiancé's car. She currently drives an 06 fiesta zetec 1.25 petrol. She's doing 80 miles a day and wants to switch to a slightly bigger diesel hatch back. Ideally we don't want to spend too much along with her car but the second hand market for 07-08 diesels seems very limited. My question is do people reckon there's value to be had in going to brand new 132 reg fiesta/i30/cee'd compared to what's available in 07/08 cars at the minute

Not really. You'll pay twice as much for a new car, if the objective is to save money then there never is an argument for a brand new car.
However you can easily skew the figures and convince yourself that the warranty will save you money etc or you can stretch the finance out longer etc.
its not all about money really though, there's the novelty of having a new car. and someone has to buy the new cars for the likes of me to buy in 4 years time.

Was thinking that alright, the price of second hand cars at the minute just seems mad with very little around the 07-08 mark, looking at 2010 compared to 2013 there's about 6k in the difference between the models. Ideally we want to spend little as we are saving for a house but don't want to fall into the trap of "buy cheap, buy twice"

Not sure what you mean by this. Can you clarify?

There are a good few post 08 small diesels out there for handy money.

Sorry, the prices seem very high and there seems to be very few cars to choose from in the market( very few mazda 3's for sale, very few i30's and cee'd, seems to be a few focus' but im not mad on them) it has to be from a dealer unfortunately as we both work long hours and our house is fairly isolated. Thanks for the help

Any links would be great if you don't mind, I've just started looking this evening so any help is greatly appreciated. I've always bought privately on previous cars but has to be a dealer this time

I'd be slightly suspicious of that mileage plus it has been for sale for a good while.
