    Hello all,

I am wondering is it difficult to remove a poorly installed Parrot CK3100 and install a parrot MKI9200 into a car? I want first of all handsfree and then I want ipod functionality that I can play songs through car radio and maybe connect another mp3 player etc. without a fm transmitter. I read good reviews about the MKI9200 so just wondering of any places around Munster region that would do a professional and neat job? How much am I talking money-wise and how many hours would this job take to do?

    Thank you.

Depends how you want it to work. If you need your headunit to automatically switch over to the Parrot when a call comes in, whether you are listening to tape, CD, radio, etc then it might be difficult (basically the Parrot needs to be able to override and switch the input).

But if, like me, you just want the Parrot to work on the existing AUX input and you are okay with manually changing from Tuner to AUX on the headunit when you want to use the Parrot, then it's dead easy.

You pretty much just need to find what these wires are on your headunit and then tap into them for the Parrot:

    - Ground
    - +12V permanent (battery)
    - +12V ignition (Acc or switched)
    - Aux input left +
    - Aux input left -
    - Aux input right +
    - Aux input right -

This is how I installed it in one car with an AUX (an Audi TT). In my own car 1997 XK8, there was no AUX but the I was able to tap into the lines for the CD changer. Not elegant, but it works.

If instead you want the fully automatic easy option, you're better off finding a pre-made loom from incarexpress.co.uk or similar to piggyback into your headunit.

The Parrot MKi9200 is without doubt the best MP3 player & handsfree kit I have ever used. It has a great little interface, and the remote control fob is class.
