    Hi,
We are trying to make our own wedding album, NOT a photobook! Any website I find is all photobooks and I can't seem to find any website that lets you create your own album. We don't want a photobook as we think the pages will more than likely get torn, we want a wedding album that has pages that are almost like a board with the pictures printed on it. It's hard to explain exactly what I mean. Any one with any suggestions or help please??
    Thanks,
    Jessica

You can get storybooks that have very thick card rather than paper. I think the majority of them is thick card, I've never seen one flimsy enough to tear.

If you want think pages with real photos, then you'd have to buy an empty album and insert the photos yourself. I've only seen those from professional photographers, cost a bomb... but I guess they must get those somewhere, so who knows, you might get lucky on google.

Thanks for your replies...I don't mind having the photos printed on the pages but I just don't want it to be a thin book I wanted it to be pretty heavy and big.
    Thanks

did you ever get any luck finding the sturdy albums? Looking into getting one soon myself...

So far have only found these:
    http://www.loxleycolour.com
    http://www.photovalue.com
    http://www.sim2000imaging.com
    http://www.photobookpress.com

    Hi All,

Just a suggestion but Emma Russel photography may be able to help you. She's starting out in the photography business but I know that she sourced her own storybook albums and because its a new career is a lot cheaper than most.

I'm not family nor her by the way - just impressed as a client. I've found her really easy to ask anything of and honest. We're also making our own books and doing our own editing (different family friend photographer - in the wedding party on the day, going to take over after) and all this hasn't been an issue :D

I used these guys for the album http://www.weddingalbumsandmore.com/ and then got my photos printed from photobox.ie and inserted them myself. It took about an hour and was really easy. I'd really really recommend them, I was absolutely thrilled with our wedding album. Their prices and customer service were brilliant also.

We got the 'Renaissance Library Bound' one in case you're interested.

if the OP was thinking of upmarket photograph albums such as Graphistudio, Asukabook or Queensberry instead of the likes of Blurb etc.
They only supply to trade and can be very spendy.
Some of the alternatives suggested above would work quite well too.

    :)

I used myphotobox.ie in the end, it was great. I designed it myself & it was really easy to use, it cost about €100 and when delivered it was a big hardback book which is what I wanted.
    I'm really pleased with it.

...Finally recently got our wedding album made and it was delivered last week!
Got it from https://www.loxleycolour.com/bellissimoapertura.aspx. Downloaded their software for designing the album. It wasn't cheap and was a bit of work of course, but well worth the result and the saving considering how much more photographers charge.

Really really happy with the result. It's a lovely hand-bound leather album with black photo mounts and real photographic paper for the photos in very good printing resolution. Came in a matching box with magnetic side clasp.

    Hi!

Just came across this thread and hope to resurrect it.

We recently got married, and received our wedding photos in high res. The images are beautiful, and the package with our photographer was cd only. We are looking to make our own wedding album, and looking for something that is professional looking, with hard pages that the images are printed directly only i.e. not an album where you put in the printed photos.

I have used photobox a lot over the years for various different things and find them great, but their photobooks just dont seem to be what we are looking for, that is hard card pages etc.

Can anyone recommend any other website that we could design our wedding album?

We can go back to our photographer and get a photobox for €450 to include 100 images. I have no idea if this is a good price or not. I enjoy putting photos together so wouldnt mind the time it would take to design the book, just want something that is good quality.

Have you looked at Blurb? (http://www.blurb.co.uk/)

I've never used them before but I'm putting together a personal album with them at the moment and IMO, they look like good quality albums. The software is easy to install and use too.
