that photo is misleading , the appliance in that photo is a potterton floor standing GAS BOILER , not a bosch dishwasher

Well spotted anuprising, it looks like the dishwasher was to the left and has been removed. The fact that a major electrical appliance is so close to the gas boiler was also mentioned. Had the firebrigade not arrived in time, there would have been a hell of a boom and a lot more damage.

Certainly it has made us more aware of appliance safety, Bosch were playing with peoples lives by hiding their guilty little secret for years .... they should be ashamed.

Wonder what happens with insurance in this case, surely the insurers will counter claim on the basis of a faulty machine. Seems the family are not back home yet and there was no repairs going on when that was filmed.

ITV1 ran a programme tonight at 7.30 on the faulty appliance issue, "How safe is your kitchen?". The main point being made was that the product recall system in the UK is not working adequately. There are too many potentially dangerous appliances which are still untraced, and possibly still in use. The programme highlighted, by way of example, the dangers of certain Bosch dishwashers and Beko ovens. The most hopeful aspect of the programme was the comparative success rate which another manufacturer (apologies, I forget which) was having in tracing its products, through an aggressive multi media campaign. I wonder what is the current state of play in Ireland?

ITVs coverage of this and other recalls is usually quite OTT but it does seem to get the point across.

Did have to do a quick check when they mentioned "Bosch dishwasher" and "Beko fridge" in the same news bulletin a few weeks ago as both of mine were in the correct age-range.
