Don't think so. You should be able to get associate membership with a club?

No, nearly 100% sure not. Is there no club near you?

i thought there was independent membership since i have seen people run in white unattached singlets at the national cross country.

see section 1.10 of below which outlines unattached membership

if there's a club close by just bite the bullet

That's generally for people moving between clubs. Only valid for 6 months anyway. Oh if only boards ac was still in existence. Would have been perfect for the OP.

I guess marathon club Ireland would be similar in set up 25 yoyos to join I think and with AAI membership. They might stipulate you have to run marathons though...

You may well find that officially posted training times are complemented with groups of members training themselves at times that suit them - at least thats how it works in my club, always ad-hoc or informal groups meeting up for a run.
